With Marian Rivera’s GMA-7 contract expiring in August, is a network switch in the cards for the Kapuso actress? Marian Rivera was open for the possibility of working in Kapamilya or Kapatid network.
Rivera chose to keep silent and instead quipped when she asked Friday whether a new TV project is being offered to her with only a month left in her contract, “Pwede bang lahat nalang kayo? Freelance nalang ako!” she said.
Rivera was speaking with reporters representing the three biggest local TV networks — ABS-CBN, TV5 and GMA-7 — at the sidelines of a press conference held by men’s magazine FHM to announce its latest “Sexiest Women” list.
Admittedly, the 28-year-old actress said she is still unsure as to what further projects she will be having at her current home network. “Hindi ko pa alam. Siguro mag… meron kaming usap-usapan kung anong gagawin sa projects, and then tingnan natin kung nasaan ako sa August.”
Rivera said she was open to the possibility of working under different TV networks.
On Friday, when asked which station she would prefer to work with most, the actress said, “Hanggang August pa ako sa GMA, so wala akong karapatang magsabi ng kahit ano sa kani-kanilang network. Basta hanggang August. Sa August, mag-usap-usap tayong lahat kung nasaan ako.”
Rivera added that she is flattered to be considered being tapped as a talent by networks other than GMA-7.
“Hindi naman siguro pinag-aagawan, nakikita lang nila siguro ‘yung potential ko bilang isang artista. At siyempre nakakatuwa na bilang isang artista na kino-consider ka nila na mapabilang sa kani-kanilang Kapamilya, Kapuso at Kapatid,” she said.
