Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao on the July 2013 cover of FHM Philippines |
MANILA – Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao has agreed to pose for a men’s magazine, as confirmed by the newest cover released by FHM Philippines on Friday.
On its Facebook page, FHM Philippines uploaded its July 2013 cover, which showed Gosiengfiao wearing a revealing beige halter top while sitting on a white chair.
It had the tagline, “Alodia: It’s all right to be obsessed.”
In an interview with the magazine, Gosiengfiao said she was first invited to pose for FHM Philippines three years ago, back when she was still a college student.
“I’m honored, pero hindi ko rin ini-expect,” she said of her first FHM cover. “I’m very shy, so matagal naming pinag-isipan – but finally I’m here! The first invite I got was three years ago. And I wasn’t ready then, I was still in college. And very, very shy!”
This prompted FHM Philippines’ Mikey Agulto to write in his online article: “Having landed Alodia in our pages, we’re now big believers that long-term investments result to big payoffs.”
On Wednesday, FHM Philippines uploaded a teaser video of its July 2013 cover girl on its website, prompting several netizens to say that Gosiengfiao has agreed to pose for the men’s magazine.
While the video did not feature the woman’s face, it showed her in a variety of poses and action shots. A clip showed the July 2013 cover girl wearing a yellow and white striped sweater and playing on a red piano.
Last June 12, Gosiengfiao uploaded a photo of herself wearing the same outfit and playing on the same red piano. It had the caption: “Finally done with today’s magazine shoot! First time to play on a red piano!”
Gosiengfiao has turned her fascination with Japanese pop culture into a successful career in the Philippines. Aside from being dubbed as the country’s “Cosplay Queen,” she is one of the hosts of the cable channel Animax Asia.
She became part of the defunct ABS-CBN show “Laugh Out Loud” and has appeared in the Star Cinema movie “The Reunion.”
Gosiengfiao currently leads a J-pop girl group called Super Dolls, which also features two Japanese cosplayers.
